Solar Power

Mesabi East uses solar power as part of our ongoing effort to support our school and community. Through the Minnesota Department of Commerce Solar for Schools Program, our district was able to install a solar energy system that is now actively generating power for our building.

This system provides several benefits:

It helps reduce energy costs over time, allowing more resources to stay focused on students.
It gives students real-world exposure to renewable energy and related careers.
It supports local jobs and investment in energy infrastructure.
It helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
It adds locally generated, renewable energy to our school and Minnesota’s power grid.

Solar power is one more way Mesabi East is preparing students for the future while being mindful of how we use energy today.
