ACT Sign Up for Juniors and Seniors - October 13th!
Sign up BY September 11th to be eligible to take the exam.
What is the ACT and Why Does It Matter?
The ACT is a college and career readiness test that measures skills you have been learning throughout high school. The test includes English, Math, and Reading, with additional Science and Writing sections depending on the testing option.
You might be wondering: Why should I care about the ACT?
Your ACT score can be used for:
College admissions – Some colleges may require or consider ACT scores when you apply.
Scholarships – A higher ACT score may qualify you for additional scholarship opportunities and could mean more money for college.
Course placement – Colleges may use your score to help determine which classes you should start with.
Planning for your future – Even if you aren't sure about college right now, taking the ACT gives you a score you can use if your plans change.
Not planning on going to college? That's okay! Your plans after high school may change, and having an ACT score gives you another option to use in the future.
Do I need to study?
You don't need to know everything! The ACT is based largely on skills you've already been learning in school. However, becoming familiar with the types of questions, practicing ahead of time, getting a good night's sleep, and taking your time and doing your best can make a difference.
Most importantly...
Take the test seriously and give it your best effort. You may not know exactly what your plans are after graduation yet, and that's completely okay. Your ACT score is one more tool you can have available when you're deciding what comes next.

The fair will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 9:00-10:30am at Minnesota North - Virginia Campus. Representatives from colleges and universities across Minnesota and beyond will be in attendance, providing students with an excellent opportunity to learn about educational opportunities, admissions process, and future career pathways. Juniors and Seniors ONLY - you MUST be on track to graduate and in good standing to be able to attend. Due date to sign up is Friday, September 11th.

Construct tomorrow is a program that introduces high school students to careers in union construction trades through hands-on activities and events. Students learn about different trades, union benefits, apprenticeship programs, and career opportunities. Events are held across the state, and students who are interested can receive help taking the next steps toward a career in the trades.
